RAA teaches and performs in schools throughout LA County.

Central High School- Mar Vista Gardens

In April, RAA re-instated it's drumming class at Central High School- Mar Vista Gardens classroom.  We are very honored to teach in this classroom made of students who get a voice in which programs they invite into their curriculum. Currently, our teaching artist, Kahlil Cummings, is the lead teacher for this class.  His modern approach to teaching this ancient art form translates easily with the youth and makes for an energetic and enlivening class.

Foster Elementary school

We have been teaching literacy, poetry and West African drumming with our partners Street Poets to the Gentlemen Scholars After School Club of Foster Elementary in Compton for several years.
