This past August, Rhythm Arts Alliance had the pleasure of hosting world-renowned and beloved, master drummer Babara Bangoura, for his second visit in Los Angeles. In an uplifting percussion workshop, Babara shared traditional rhythms and songs from his culture in Guinea, West Africa. Following his 2-hour workshop, an energetic Dununba took place in the streets of Leimert Park. A traditional custom of West Africa, Dununbas are used to bring entire communities together to drum and dance to djembe rhythms. Check out some of the footage below!
